Accumulate – Managed fund
The Stake Accumulate Fund is a managed investment scheme, a type of investment where your money is pooled with other investors and managed by a professional investment manager. It targets distributions of RBA cash rate +2% p.a. after fees, though not guaranteed.
It offers Class A units for retail investors through the PDS, with Stake as Investment Manager delegating to Sydney-based GFAM for a fixed-income focus on corporate credit. I worked to make this a low-barrier way for passive wealth-building in volatile markets.
Aussie investors faced high barriers to fixed-income options, limiting passive wealth-building beyond volatile stocks. Stake launched Accumulate as a low-effort fund with compounding returns, easy access, and Class A/B units—but needed seamless UX amid legal/compliance hurdles like TMD/PDS docs.
I owned the end-to-end design process collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in order to design and build this product offering within 2 months.
- Research alignment
- Ideation
- Prototyping (Figma, Cursor, Lovable)
- Stakeholder iterations (brand/legal/PM)
- UI across app & web
- Asset direction
- Dev handoff
Worked closely with brand to lean into Accumulate’s unique look across UI.
-
Onboarding: Questionnaire + KYC to qualify users per TMD (later tweaked wording to boost pass rates).
-
Dashboard/Empty State: Easy funding start, then balance view, cash tracking, withdrawals, and earnings forecast calculator.
-
Docs & Reports: Clean integration of PDS/TMD and monthly reports.
I used Figma to create multiple prototypes that showcased loads, changed states, interactions and breakdowns. These helped me to show proof of concepts during stakeholder reviews and also assisted in the dev handoff process.
Accumulate drove massive adoption with 26K users and over $100M funded by active customers.
We found that we needed to adjust the questionnaire in order to boost TMD pass rates for broader access.
Key takeaways: In regulated fintech, prioritise frictionless flows with legal precision, prototype early for smoother stakeholder review.
