Altera — derived from alter, represents thoughtful change.Its visual identity was intentionally neutral and composed, reinforcing the system’s role as a steady foundation in an otherwise fast-moving, complex environment.
To drive adoption and ownership, I wanted to treat the design system as a product and developed a dedicated brand identity for it. The intention was to give it a clear, recognisable presence across documentation, and internal communication distinct from the core product brand, but aligned in values and tone.
By defining its name and visual language, the system became more than a toolkit; it became a shared reference point and a source of trust across teams.
